NNPN Looks Back to Go Forward
In the summer of 2019, the Board of National New Play Network voted to adopt the FY20-25 Strategic Plan. One of the first, and most radical, actions NNPN took as a result of that plan's adoption was to completely transform our governance structure, moving from a Board of nearly 40 comprised primarily of representatives from our Core Member Theaters, to a group of 16 diverse representatives of all NNPN Constituencies.
Also embedded in our plan was the need for reflection, assessment, and transparency. Our Anti-Racism and Anti-Bias Plan and Commitment to Action, released in the summer of 2020, was a necessary addendum to the Strategic Plan, and also holds transparency as an important value at its core.
In January, NNPN released its first assessment and report to our Constituents - Member Theater staff, Affiliated Artists, and Ambassadors - and now, we're sharing it with our larger community, too. Below, you can scroll through the high-level summary of our findings. And, of course, you can find the full report on our website here.
This is just the first report of this kind, and we look forward to sharing what we continue to learn with you in the coming years.
