Welcome. We're glad you're here.

When we decided that it was time to relaunch our National New Play Network newsletter, we knew we wanted to be intentional about what we put into the digital world. There is already so much to read, listen, scroll, snap, do - and yet the feeling that there is a unique contribution NNPN can make to the ongoing conversations across the American theater persists.

The leadership, wisdom, curiosity, and grit of the folx that comprise the Network is unmatched. This group of exemplary humans believes, as does NNPN, in a robust, equitable, anti-racist new play ecology. We believe that - launching this platform as we are in Spring 2021, in the midst of so much continued uncertainty for our field - going back to normal is not an option. Instead, we must grow forward together. We must create the new play sector, the American theater, and the world as we believe it can be in order to live with the justice, equity, and joy we envision.

And so, this space was created to house the thoughts, ideas, and experiments of the people who make the Network work. We are honored to share their questions, curiosities, provocations, and dreams with you - and we hope that you will contribute to the conversation started here.

There is much to be done, but we know the breadth and depth of what's possible when passionate people dedicate themselves to common beliefs. Thank you for being here, for being part of this effort, for helping us build the future we need. Together.
